I am a self-taught photographer who is a native-born of Los Angeles. In place of college courses, I worked diligently in the film industry on countless commercials, music videos and film projects. I have had great fortune to work closely with Academy Award Winning cinematographer, Freddy Francis, learning his techniques of single light, high key photography, which is prevalent in most of my imagery. This also led to the oppurtunity of working with world-renowned photographer Bruce Weber. I finally was able to purchase my first motion picture camera and learn the art of Steadicam photography. This allowed me to expand my horizons by setting up a small film company, Pirate Films. It has only been recently that I realized my fascination with still imagery. I have won awards in American Photo Magazine and worked with a master printer, Gerard Commarieu who is learned from Magnum of Paris. During my time with Gerard, I discovered through trial and error an innovative way to process with Gold Flake Toning. This discovery has never been done before and I plan on presenting more of this type process to shows in the
future. The chief editor of American Photo magazine is holding one of my unique Gold Tone pieces. I am currently perfecting this process and working on discovering other processes and shooting styles.
